BC Leads (bc-leads.ca) is currently operated by Mathieu Landry as an individual, not through a registered corporation. For anything in this policy, contact info@bc-leads.ca.
What we collect
- Your email address and a password (stored as a one-way hash — we never store or can see your actual password).
- Your saved trade/subtrade selections, subtraction filters, postal code, and search radius — only if you save a profile.
- Your device location, only if you tap "Use My Location" and grant your browser's location permission. This is used to compute distance to job sites in your session and is not stored on our server.
- A record of which leads you've unlocked, when, and for how much (for billing, refunds, and the per-lead 3-buyer cap).
- Refund requests and their content, if you submit one.
What we don't collect
We never see or store your raw payment card number. Once payment processing is live, card details are handled entirely by our payment processor (Stripe) — our server only ever receives a non-reversible token identifying the card, never the number itself.
Third parties
- Photon (komoot.io) — converts a postal code you enter into map coordinates. Only the postal code is sent, never your name or email.
- OpenStreetMap — supplies the map tiles shown on the Map view. No personal data is sent to load a map tile.
- Stripe (once payments are live) — processes your card payment directly; we never see the card number.
The permit and development-application data behind every listing is public record, published by the issuing BC municipality (Vancouver, Surrey, Langley, Delta, Maple Ridge, Port Coquitlam, Coquitlam) through their own open-data portals.
Cookies
We set one session cookie so you stay logged in. There is no advertising pixel, no third-party analytics, and no cross-site tracking on this site.
Email alerts
We only ever email you about new matching leads if you've explicitly turned on "Email me when a new lead matches my saved trades & area" in your profile. Every alert email includes a one-click unsubscribe link that turns this off immediately — no login required.
How long we keep it, and how to delete it
We keep your account data as long as your account exists. Email info@bc-leads.ca to request your account and its data be deleted, or to ask what we hold on you.
We don't sell your data
Your account information is never sold or shared with third parties for marketing purposes.
Governing law
BC Leads operates out of British Columbia, Canada, and handles personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).
Changes
If this policy changes in a material way, the update will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
