Unlocking a job profile costs $7 (or is free if you still have signup free unlocks remaining). We guarantee a refund in the cases below — anything outside them is reviewed case by case.
Guaranteed refund
We will approve your refund request if the lead you unlocked was:
- Inaccurate — the trade tag, address, or other core details were materially wrong.
- A duplicate — the same job site had already been listed (and you'd already paid for it) as a separate lead.
- Already spoken for — the permit was in fact pulled by that trade's own contractor, so there was no open work for you to bid on, and the listing didn't already say so at the time you unlocked it.
Reviewed case by case
Anything else — for example, you unlocked a lead, contacted the property owner, and simply didn't win the job — is normal business risk and isn't automatically refunded, but we do review every request by hand and will use judgment on genuine edge cases. Tell us what happened when you submit the request.
How to request one
Open the lead's full listing in the app and use "Request a Refund," or email info@bc-leads.ca with the lead ID and what went wrong. Requests are reviewed by hand, typically the same day.
Free unlocks
New accounts get 3 free unlocks. A free unlock costs you nothing, but if one is approved for refund under this policy, it's restored to your account rather than paid back — there was nothing to pay back.
Abuse
Refund requests are tracked per account. A pattern of unlocking leads, using the contact information, and then requesting a refund every time is treated as abuse of this policy and may result in denied requests or account suspension.
